Why Some Consider Organic Food Bad

 THIS IS WHAT CAN HAPPEN IF ORGANIC FARMERS WAIT A LITTLE TO LONG!!

  I was scrolling through live-strong.com, a diet and work out website, and i stumbled upon an article with the title "Why Organic Food is Bad?". And the first few cons were the same as the last few, the cost is bad, its labor intensive,and has smaller yield. But then I found some interesting facts about the food itself. Since the organics are not treated with preservatives, spoilage occurs rapidly, it reduces the foods shell life and cause it to rot more easily. This is bad for farmers especially if the food is transported far because the food may rot and it could ruin a farmers yield. Another interesting fact that i found is when a food says locally grown, people assume its organic especially if its in farmers markets but its not actually certified organic it just looks like it. Usually the location of organics is not local but in certain parts of the country and the world. im not gonna lie it was hard to find cons about this topic but, when you read about the very few, you become aware and understanding of the reasons why organic farming can be bad.

Shocking Reasons Why You Should Go Organic

 As i was doing my daily research through CBS i came across an article about so interesting facts about why organic food is by far the best. Although Organic food is a bit expensive I found some reasons why you and your family may want to convert to organic. Studies prove that organic food has tons of nutrients and antioxidants. The pesticides in conventional farming reduce the fertility of the product you are eating. The chemicals in conventional food also can har4m your immune system leaving you susceptible to sickness. Also, new research has shown that conventional food has some agricultural chemicals that can interfere with your hormone levels and cause obesity. Meat is a huge topic of concern in conventional food, people are concerned about the chemicals and antibiotics that the cattle are eating. Organic livestock has an organic diet meaning the cows are fed what they should be fed normally. Studies have shown that grass fed beef has 60 percent more omega 3's, 200 percent more vitamin E, and 2 to 3 times as much cancer fighting fat called CLA. And the same goes for milk, it has 50 percent more vitamin E, 75 percent more beta-carotene(makes bones stronger), and 70 percent more omega 3's. Organic milk is surely free of growth hormones, which is important because growth hormones cause infertility of the milk and its been linked to breast and prostate cancer. Also in this article it has a list of foods and brands that are the best for you, and you should defiantly think about getting. i eat organic food and love it, even though it doesn't look right it still tastes the same and is way better for me. Here is a picture of cheddar bunnies a personal favorite of mine, its like cheese its or goldfish but it has no hydrogenated oils and no coloring or any else of that garbage.

Money Means Everything in the Farming Industry

 ORGANICS=$$$$$$$$$$

         I came across an article that was about the extremely high prices of organic food, but as the article progressed it got into the details of why organic food is so expensive. as I read on I found out that organic food has to have more hands at a time meaning the farmers must deal with bugs, weeds, and other pests. farmers rely on nature to take its course so, a farmer rarely gets the kind of yield he wants. Simply because he does not put chemicals onto his plants so they grow weak and the plant wont be strong enough. Organic food costs so much more then conventional because it takes more time and work to grow crops and raise animals to be called organic. Organic farmers also struggle in money because not a lot of people convert to organic simply because they don't want to pay the money. I know in my last article i said organic food produces a better yield but as a read in this article it seems that is does not in fact it only produces half the number of yield that conventional farmers do. I am going to have to research that and get back to you. The point of the article however is that organic farming is a huge gamble, and if you lose that gamble you could be in debt for the rest of your life. That is why I believe if we put a law on farming that every farmer must grow and raise organic, all farmers will be equal in yields making the price go down and farmers influx of money grow.

Organic farming Advantages

 WISH EVERY FARM WAS AS HAPPY AS THIS!

                I came across an article about consumer and grower benefits for organic farming. I found out is dramatically superior in mineral content because it fosters life on the soil. Another huge benefit is that the plants and animals are free of pesticides, hormones, drugs, and other harmful products. Organic food is 100 percent all natural. A poll was taken by people with blindfolds on, they tasted different foods and for every one the said organic tasted the best. now this is an opinion but i believe that people sometimes wont eat organic food because it doesn't look right but, i actually tastes just as good if not better! Organic plants are well nourished and with that they can store food longer. organic Farmers are very good with disease resistance mainly because they do not use pesticides on their plants, and they do not "drug" up their cows. A very interesting fact is that weeds actually react well with organic food acting as a band aid to protect the plants, if you use pesticides the weeds will actually attack the plants trying to kill them. Organic Growing may be more time consuming but it is very good on input costs because they do not raise money for pharmaceuticals, and pesticides. Now researchers have also found out that organic farming could save third world countries because of the amount of surplus grown. it is now a fact that organic food grows in larger amounts making a farmer life easier. And last but not least of course Organic farming is climate and ecologically friendly. All these Pro's I don't even know how you can find con's about organic farming. It is so interesting how people know what their putting into their body but do nothing about it!??

Organic Farming Disadvantages

 FARMER'S PRAY THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO THEIR FARM.

      I just read my first con article about organic food, and you would think it would be hard to find flaws in organic food but, there is a lot. An example would be GM crops (GENETICALLY ENGINEERED), people believed once they are released that it is impossible to un release them making it a disadvantage for organic farmers. Another disadvantage is time, Organic food takes up so much time to cultivate and or prepare animals, mainly because they let the food and animals grow as the should. They believed that this is the way all farming should be but, because it is so time consuming some farmers cant afford it. One disadvantage that i found extremely interesting this the required skill surrounding organic farming. instead of just getting a plant or cow and letting them just grow farmers have to create a strategy. They need to figure out how they are going to grow and when their gonna grow, because if one little tiny thing goes wrong it could ruin a farmers whole season. Organic farming is almost like gambling, its the right thing to do but can you do it. These cons are very eye opening and not something you wuld expect from a presigous way of farming.

Organic Beef vs Conventional Beef

    I read an article on National geographic and it compared the Diets of livestock in a conventional farm and an organic farm and what i found out changed my view on meat forever. Conventionally produced beef is far more large than organic beef, for years scientist's tried to understand so they went undercover to find out why the cows were growing so large. They found out that conventional farmers used grain as a diet for the cattle causing them to grow rapidly and when they examined the grain they also found a lot of growth enhancers and antibiotics to make them big and muscular, almost like a cow on steroids. They compared this method to an organic method and organic farmers feed the cows grass and natural foods. Another huge topic of concern is the living conditions for cattle. organic farmers let their cows graze in the open meadow and are free to roam around. They are put into feedlots(inside place were cows go if it is raining or snowing and they cannot graze)in only certain conditions. The problem with conventional farmers is that their cows are in feed lots 24-7 and they rarely come out which is illegal and cruel. People really need to listen up to these facts and know what is being put into their food or how it was raised. A cow should be healthy not souped up on antibiotics, that's un-natural. These farmers know it is wrong but they continue to do it anyway because their lives depend on it. its up to us to stop it. What my topic is about.

My Topic is very interesting its something that is overlooked but, extreme dangerous and important. For years my mom has been trying to tell me that Organic Food is the way to go, and that McDonald's and all the other garbage is not the meat i want to be eating. She says it can leas to diseases, i never really believed her until i finally researched about it. The way conventional farmers breed their cows is very unnatural and disgusting, i cannot believe what is being put into the food i eat. Its a topic you never really never listen to but, after seeing what is being put into my meat it gets me concerned. I cannot wait to tell everyone all the details about these gross farming methods in this blog. My mom has just rented a movie for me called Food Inc. i cant wait to blog about it.
